Dr. Chaim Nissel

Chaim Nissel, Psy.D. is the Director of the Counseling Centers of Yeshiva University and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work. Previously, he has worked at YU for 14 years in various capacities, including school psychologist at the boy’s high school and Associate Dean of Students for Health Affairs. He holds a master’s degree in education and a doctorate in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Pace University in NYC. He has lectured extensively on the topic of college mental health and has a specialty in suicide assessment and prevention. He has trained over 1000 clinicians about suicide risk and has presented at various international conferences, hospitals, clinics and universities in the U.S. and Canada. As a clinical psychologist, he has also worked with children and adolescents and their parents. Dr. Nissel resides in New Hempstead, NY with his wife and five children.
