Professor Leonard Fuld

Leonard Fuld is Clinical Assistant Professor of Accounting, Tax and Entrepreneurial Business Management at the Sy Syms School of Business of Yeshiva University. He has lectured extensively on U.S. and International tax and business issues throughout the world. Prior to joining Yeshiva University, Len was a highly rated adjunct professor for many years in the graduate schools of Baruch and Queens College. In addition to his academic background, Len’s business experience comprises over 38 years of accounting and tax practice, technical tax research, administration, and compliance, including more than seven years in the public accounting arena, in both audit and tax, with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Len’s thirty plus years in industry led to ever increasing senior tax officer responsibilities, within major global businesses, including Schlumberger Ltd, Citigroup, and most recently with Griffon Corp, where he was the Vice President of Taxes of this $1.8 billion New York Stock Exchange multinational. He has been a member of the American Institute of CPAs, New York State Society of CPAs, International Tax Institute, and the Tax Executives Institute. Len has also served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations and is the Chairperson of his town’s Ethics Committee. Len’s hands-on experience includes all types of business transactions, ethics, mergers and acquisitions, government lobbying, individual tax controversies, audit and U.S. tax legislation. Mr. Charlie Harary

Mr. Charlie Harary, Esq. is a Clinical Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship and an Associate Entrepreneur in Residence at the Syms School of Business in Yeshiva University. In addition, Mr. Harary is the CEO of H3 Capital LLC, a private equity company based in New York. Prior to H3 Capital, Mr. Harary was the First Vice President of Residential Operations and Legal Counsel of RXR Realty, a multi-billion dollar Real Estate Company based in New York. Prior to RXR, Mr. Harary was an associate in Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and Davis Polk & Wardwell. He received his J.D. from Columbia Law School where he was awarded the James Kent Scholar and the Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Mr. Harary is a prolific speaker who has traveled all over the country and abroad speaking for organizations, schools, universities and institutions on a variety of topics and to audiences of various sizes and affiliations. He has created dozens of videos that have received worldwide attention reaching hundreds of thousands of people in over 15 countries. Mr. Harary is also a Senior Lecturer for the Orthodox Union, Aish Hatorah and NCSY. In addition, he is an active community leader. He is the founder and president of Milvado Inc., an organization that develops innovative methods to teach spirituality in relevant and modern ways. Dr. Steven Nissenfeld

Dr. Steven Nissenfeld is a clinical professor of management science at the Sy Syms School of Business of Yeshiva University. He joined the SSSB faculty after 27 years of experience in the field of human resource consulting as a partner of the Hay Group, a global human resource consulting firm. Dr. Nissenfeld has worked with CEO’s, top management and boards in diverse industries. He has helped organizations design and implement creative human resource management programs, strategies, plans, processes and systems to address the new competitive environment. He has extensive experience in managing and facilitating organizational and executive effectiveness, development, learning and culture change. Dr. Nissenfeld has directed large-scale, broad-based consulting engagements in all human resource areas, including: organizational analysis, competency design, staffing, selection, performance management, culture and attitude assessment, executive and managerial compensation design. He has spoken extensively at various national professional forums on ongoing human resource challenges confronting the business world today. Dr. Moses Pava

Moses Pava is the Alvin Einbender Professor of Business Ethics and professor of accounting at Sy Syms School of Business of Yeshiva University, where he has taught since 1988. Prof. Pava’s research interests include business ethics, financial accounting, corporate social responsibility and the interface between religion and business. His work in these areas is frequently cited in both academic and professional literatures. He has written numerous books and articles on these topics, including “Leading with Meaning,” “Business Ethics: A Jewish Perspective,” “The Search for Meaning in Organizations” and “Corporate Social Responsibility and Financial Performance,” which was named by Choice Magazine as an “Outstanding Business Book Selection.” Prof. Pava’s most recent book is “Jewish Ethics as Dialogue: Using Spiritual Language to Re-Imagine a Better World.” In addition, Prof. Pava serves as editor of the annual series “Research in Ethical Issues in Organizations” published by Elsevier. He also serves on the editorial boards of Business Ethics Quarterly and the Journal of Business Ethics and is a frequent contributor and reviewer for these journals. Dr. Abraham Ravid

Dr. S. Abraham (Avri) Ravid is a Professor of Finance at the Sy Syms School of Business of Yeshiva University. A Yom Kippur War veteran and war correspondent, Dr. Ravid has spoken on national Israeli and American radio about his experiences. He has more than 40 refereed publications, in journals such as the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Finance, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Bell Journal, Journal of Business, Journal of Marketing Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, as well as book chapters, monographs and other publications. His current research interests include corporate finance (mergers, bankruptcy, and corporate debt), contracting theory and venture capital as well as the entertainment industry. He has received several awards and prizes for his research. Dr. Ravid has presented at major conferences including the NBER, AFA, EFA, ALEA, the Searle conference as well as in Universities including Yale, Cornell, Wharton, Columbia, NYU, Dartmouth, INSEAD, UCLA, USC, Vanderbilt and many others. He has consulted to governments in Israel and the US as well as to private industry. Dr. Ravid’s work was covered by the press around the world, including the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, Fox News, CNBC, National Public Radio, BBC, Nouvel Observateur, the Australian, New Yorker, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Fortune, The Independent of London, the Toronto Globe and Mail and more. Mr. Michael Strauss

Michael Strauss is the Entrepreneur-in-Residence and Adjunct Professor of Management at Sy Syms School of Business in Yeshiva Univesity. He is currently Chairman and CEO of BSafe Electrix, Inc. which is an advanced start up company which he started a few years ago. The company has intriguing intellectual property that addresses electrical safety problems that currently exist in the electrical device market in electrical products used universally in residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Michael Strauss is also Chairman of Sherwood Consulting Group, Inc., a management advisory firm dedicated to advising and coaching emerging growth companies in restructuring and scaling their businesses. There were several companies that he worked with prior to founding BSafe Electrix. Prior to that, Michael Strauss spent twelve years at American Express. He was one of only three Executive Vice Presidents of the Travel Related Services Division of American Express. He headed the Gold Card Division, the Canadian Subsidiary of American Express, the US Credit Card Marketing Business and the US Travel Division. Prior to that, Mr. Strauss served in several financial and management capacities at American Airlines, The Bank of New York and CitiGroup. Mr. Strauss earned a BBA degree from the City University of New York, Baruch School, and an MBA from the same university. Mr. Strauss currently serves on the Dean’s Council at the State University of New York, at Stony Brook–College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
